Our Story

It started with a kiosk and a question.

Before the corner on William Street, Café 2nd Gen was a small summer kiosk — a place to test an idea: what does coffee taste like when you grow up between two cultures? The answer became a menu, and the menu became a room full of light.

We call it 2nd Gen because that's where we come from. Vietnamese coffee is the foundation, but the flavours wandering through it — matcha, ube, tahini, knafeh — are the neighbourhoods, the friends, the family tables we grew up around. Familiar to someone, new to everyone.
